Orissa govt approves new satellite city between Sambalpur and Jharsuguda

The Orissa government has approved the setting up of a model satellite city between Sambalpur and Jharsuguda to meet the needs driven by rapid industrialization of the area.
The Sambalpur Development Authority has reserved a 2,000 acre site in Sambalpur-Jharsuguda for the township. The township would have provisions for 24- hours solar energy supply and eco-friendly environment.
A decision has also been taken to construct an ultra-modern bus stand in Sambalpur at a cost of about Rs 18 crore at the first phase. Also, a 50 acres site in Ainthapali is to be developed into a cultural-cum -entertainment centre.
